OVERVIEW

Lush and resource-rich, Landahl is a world of rainforests, shallow life-filled oceans, and three major continents: mountainous Assica, comparatively dry Pothyria, and jungle-choked Tabisaan. It is the home of the illyrs, bioluminescent quadrupeds who developed a peaceful global culture before achieving spaceflight in recent decades. Their first external contact brought conquest instead of diplomacy: Veskarium forces rapidly overran Landahl, only to face an escalating insurgency as illyr resistance cells formed worldwide. The orbital destruction of Hizzala—remembered as Tradger's Reckoning—was intended to crush dissent but instead galvanized long-term rebellion. For more than two decades, guerrilla war has defined the planet. After earlier commanders failed, Commander Koben Adalandil shifted to a slower strategy of targeted pressure, selective reconstruction, information warfare, and deniable operations, including mercenary espionage and false-flag manipulation. Even as Veskarium leadership scales back support, conflict persists as illyrs adapt, recruit offworld help, and contest both military occupation and propaganda control across the planet.

MAJOR SETTLEMENTS (7)

Camp Bestillen

Once an illyr military base and then a vesk prison camp, Camp Bestillen was retaken in a mass uprising after news of Tradger's Reckoning spread among inmates. It now serves as a major resistance bastion and symbolic vesk failure. Crucially, captured Veskarium armaments and craft here enabled illyr engineers to reverse-engineer advanced military technology under the leadership of Chief Technician Klizagg.

Hizzala

A former metropolis on Pothyria reduced to ruins by the orbital strike known as Tradger's Reckoning. Now treated as a grave-city by both sides, it draws scavengers and looters despite persistent reports of predatory entities haunting the shattered skyline and feeding indiscriminately amid the dead.

Kallibria

Unlike many illyr population centers, Kallibria's leadership accepted vesk occupation to avoid Hizzala-like devastation. Its famed gardens and temples remain largely intact, but the city is politically divided: collaborators, covert rebels, and occupier security forces all operate in close proximity. Legends tied to Eloritu's temple cellars—said to contain a devastating ritual at terrible cost—have become a focal point for both resistance zealots and vesk counterintelligence.

Wathlitan

A key illyr manufacturing center on Pothyria and long-running objective of Tradger Lorthal's breakaway-but-tacitly-used legion. The city's stockpiles have repeatedly sustained Lorthal's operations despite official disavowal by Veskarium command. Ongoing atrocities in and around Wathlitan continue to harden resistance and undermine prospects for negotiated peace.

Obedurn Associates Research Colony

An android-led offworld research consortium entrenched on Landahl that openly recognizes illyr sovereignty. Though nominally scientific, the colony has become a strategic pressure point by sheltering rebels, facilitating smuggling corridors, and attempting to provoke a larger geopolitical response to Veskarium occupation.

Petran 1

Formerly Assica's regional illyr capital, Petran 1 now functions as the main Veskarium command center on Landahl. Much of its original carved tuff architecture has been overbuilt with militarized facades and propaganda systems. Commander Adalandil directs parallel campaigns from here: infrastructural hearts-and-minds reconstruction and covert efforts to contain rival warlord Tradger Lorthal.

Sycalline Forest Preserve

A dense fey-protected region where the Minecine Court and illyrs, once wary rivals under an ancient armistice, now cooperate against occupation. The preserve shelters displaced civilians and resistance networks behind layered enchantments and illusion fields that have repeatedly defeated vesk reconnaissance, including orbital surveillance attempts.
